Making Mentoring Work - Front to Back (Readiness Assessment to Evaluation)
Fad interventions are seductive! Think Zero-Defects, Quality Circles, Six Sigma, mentoring (?) …
Organizations can avoid falling for fast fading fads and design sustainable solutions. How? With front-to-back framing of the intervention. Linking a mentoring process to business goals is essential to success and sustainability.
A diligent search of organizations reported to have mentoring processes revealed that most were “ether-ware”, or one-off “pilots.” Why? They were not directly aligned to goals, needs, or opportunities, nor were they contributing measurable results.
Similarly, many individuals express a desire to have a mentor prior to determining readiness for the relationship, and without assessing the skills and/or experiences sought.
Evaluation of results provides the ROI that embeds mentoring in the culture. This webinar provides guidelines for assessing organizational or individual readiness, and an elegantly simple process for evaluation and continuous improvement, to ensure sustainability of the mentoring program.
